Byebye 2014, Hello 2015!

It has been a year and a month since smelly girl joined our family, and it has never been more complete – From outings and friends, to cooking and baking, to baths and poop scooping, it has been an utter joy! (okay, nope… I’m lying about the poop scooping) 😛

Anyhow, what better way to usher in the New Year than a whole 365 day round up.. Right?

It’s hard to say which are the best memories or moments I have had with le poop monster, but the following have got to be the highlights of our year!

I’d be lying if I said every inch of our relationship has been fine and dandy. There have been times where I felt so frustrated, embarrassed even, that I have a dog that acts like that, while everyone else seems to have a normal “dog-like”dog. But her interactions with Beanie the past few weeks have shown me that she has a capacity to be a dog.

That aside, at the top of the proverbial list is.. *drum roll* her starting to warm up to Beanie, the buttalicious Mr Butt Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

I have noticed that Cotton is slightly (I would italicise that a thousand times if I could) nicer to smaller, female dogs, as compared to her with a bigger male (or female) dog. It took Ms Cotton nearly 4 outings before she decided Mr Butt wasn’t so scary after all.

Super far..

Slightly closer..

Closer with cake being the third party..

Super close after swimming!

A picture paints a thousand words right..? Here you can see how they went from ultra far, to closer and closer!

And at this point I would like to say a heartfelt thanks towards Kimmey for her tolerance towards Cottie the Snapper, especially when Cotz is mean to her precious son Beanz!! I really don’t know of many dog owners who would willingly allow another dog to snap at their dog.

The next, albeit hard to choose, would be our swimming trip to Sunny Heights (Animal World)! They recently revamped the place and the place looks spanking awesome.

I love how they have tiny steps to aid the dogs entering and leaving the pool, as compared to other pools with just a slope.

Sunny heights also has 2 pools, one deep and one shallow. Hence accomplish doggy swimmers and other dogs starting out, can enjoy the best of both worlds.

They also have a Dog Wash installed near the entrance of the pool, hence it’s super convenient to wash off your dog after the swim. You have to pay roughly $1/min of the Dog Wash used, with a minimum starting sum of $10 ($10mins). 10% of proceeds goes to Voices For Animals though! 🙂

All in all, it has been such a fun year with Cotton and the friends we have made, and it has been really fulfilling to see the changes Cotton has undergone with us. It has also been really enjoyable learning more about dogs – the nuances, needs and nutrition – and I’m sure 2015 will give us a blasting good time too!
